meet Andi

Andi (Andrea) was born in Minneapolis and has spent the majority of her life in Minnesota where she currently resides with her husband, 3 kids, 2 dogs, and cat.  She is the sole owner of Align Mold Consulting LLC.  She found her passion in the indoor sciences after her own health was greatly affected by mold toxicity and Lyme disease.

"My  education is in the sciences where I majored in biology and chemistry with hopes of practicing medicine one day.  In all reality, I loved studying the sciences and going into medicine made sense. I always knew I wanted to help folks heal; I just didn't know in what capacity.  However, I was never able to finish my degree. After purchasing my first home, I fell very ill with mysterious health issues that kept me from being able to work and quickly draining our resources.  By the time we realized that the culprit to my illness was mold in our home, we were financially tapped out.  While living in a tent for 3 months, I fought the best way I knew how, by reading and studying.  I reached out to professionals and educators in the industry, some of whom sent me free textbooks which I devoured cover to cover.  I read everything I could get my hands on about mold toxicity, mold remediation, indoor air quality, environmental testing, mold, and mycotoxins.  By the time I was well enough to work, I knew how I wanted to use my scientific knowledge to help others heal.  After regaining my health, I contacted a local mold remediation and indoor air quality company and insisted that the owner hire me.  He was hesitant at first, not knowing how I would fit into his business, but I was persistent.  In the years I spent working for this company, I created my own and unique role in the company as client advocate and director of education.  It has always been my goal to change the industry, to set the bar higher, and to be a connector of people.  I have special advantage of knowing a little bit about everything which allows me to be a great connector of people.  I feel that God has intended me to do the work that I do today and I find a lot of purpose in that.  My aim is to help you navigate this journey and avoid making all the mistakes I made mine!  I had never wanted to be a business owner and had never given it much thought.  However, I see a need and a great void in  where that need exists.  I have a vision and a passion and I want to share that with others!" -Andi

"You can usually find me lecturing relentlessly on indoor air quality and spreading awareness on these topics everywhere I go!  Whether it's at the grocery store or at a friend's party; yes, even in my personal life!  But when I'm not doing what I'm so vehemently passionate about, you will find me in the woods. Being in nature fills my soul and quiets my thoughts. I have an obsession for mushrooms and am an avid forager.  If you visit my home, you'll find mushroom figurines in every corner of my home.  Ironic, I know!  I have been married to the love of my life Peter for almost 10 years and we have 3 wonderful kids.  We love to camp, hike, fish, forage, and look for "cool rocks."  We have a lot of love in our home but have never been blessed with a lot of money.  We find so much joy in enjoying the simple things in life.  I also love to read and learn.  My home is full of books on mushrooms, mold, indoor air quality, environmental testing, and scientific textbooks.  I find great joy in learning and expanding my knowledge in efforts of educating and advocating for others.  I've been known to bring scientific articles and books along with when we go ice fishing or camping.  I also love to play the piano, craft, ride dirt bikes (in my younger years!), rollerskate, and fish." -Andi
